Band names are hard to find. It’s tough to come up with a band name. My main demand is that it doesn’t begin with ‘The’ and isn’t long and weird. Long, weird names are cool but I don’t want one. I don’t think long band names get much better than …And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead.
After a few sinister death-related names, I think we’re slowly settling on MegaShark.
I definitely wanted one of those 90s rock band names where you put two unrelated words together, like Pearl Jam, Mudhoney, Idlewild, Kerbdog, Soundgarden et al. What makes it a really great name is that it also relates to a really bad film, Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus.
What do you think of MegaShark as a band name? It sounds big and heavy but not too serious, right?
